Happy Take a Walk in the Park (with your dog) Day and Giveaway!

Rocco escapes the elements in his nifty Petmate pop up tent
Did you know that this Sunday is National Take a Walk in the Park Day?

Neither did we until the nice folks at Petmate reached out to us with a terrific giveaway opportunity to help you enjoy your walks with your pups even more!

Read all the way down to enter our giveaway and see the nifty prize pack you can win from Petmate.

But first, here's five reasons why you should grab your pup this Sunday (or any day) and take a walk in the park.

  1. Getting out in the great outdoors is great exercise for both you and your dog
  2. It gives you time to stop and smell the roses
  3. Walking and taking in some nature is a terrific stress reducer
  4. It's a great way to clear your head, and you might just come up with a brilliant idea!
  5. It's a perfect time to bond with your dog and socialize with others you might meet on the way too!
Rocco stops for a quick photo opp with his pals Bingo and Codie during a walk through Piedmont Park in Atlanta
Anytime you head out with your dog, there are a few items you'll always want to have along like waste bags and a way to serve water. Petmate is offering those and a few extra items to make your walk in the park even more enjoyable!

  8. Walking anywhere, especially a nice park is always fun. Nice giveaway too, but we had a pop up kennel like that and it was a disaster. First Bailie cartwheeled around the room in it trying to get out. Then Mom left and when she came back, Bailie had ripped the seam by the zipper open and broke out. For Bailie we need something like the county jail. She also broke out of a kennel at nose work class. One determined pup we have! Rocco looks so cute and happy sitting in there!

It is very nice and they even have garbage cans and doggie bags placed at regular intervals along the way in case you forget your own. We liked walking at Gulf Island National Seashore the one and only time the gnats didn't attack us, and there is a new dog park in Gautier we want to check out.
