Do You Trust Your Chicken Jerky Dog Treats?

You can win these Made in the USA
dog treats from Hill's
Chicken jerky treats for dogs have certainly been a hot topic for the past few years. Throughout 2011, the FDA saw an increase in the number of complaints it received of dog illnesses associated with chicken jerky products imported from China. And it seems we keep reading about these stories.

The good news is there are plenty of treats made and sourced right here in the USA. I know lots of my friends look for the Made in the USA label before buying any treats.

So we were excited to hear from our pals at Hill's about a fun giveaway for Made in the USA dog treats. Read all the way down to enter!

  2. I don't give any chicken jerky treats. At least not until all the hoopla has gone.

  5. I have been giving Science diet treats but in Beef. Not because I don't trust the chicken, but because my dog has a food allergy to poultry, so I try to avoid it.

  12. Simple answer? NO! We've been making our own beef jerky for years now, it's not that hard at all.

  13. Maya and Pierson will do lots of spin tricks for their treats. I might even get Pierson to jump through hoops for them!

  14. Oscar works for chicken jerky treats every night after dinner. He will sit, come, ask, down, paw, and high five. He also poops for treats. (He's pad trained and expects a reward each time.) And, he always gets a bite of chicken jerky as a bye-bye treat if I'm going somewhere that he is not allowed to go. Actually, I don't think there is any limit to what he would do for chicken jerky treats -- that's why we don't take chances with the origin of the treats.

  18. I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
