  1. Hi Diane - My name is Bailey Schroeder and today I launched an Indiegogo campaign for ResQwalk – an iOS mobile app that enables animal lovers to raise money for animal rescues and shelters, and earn cool rewards, every time they go for a walk. The purpose of the Indiegogo campaign is to raise money to fund the app’s initial donation pools.

I thought I'd let you know about ResQwalk – because I think it would be of interest to your readers. The way ResQwalk works is: at the beginning of each week ResQwalk announces a donation pool (e.g. $2,500) and in order for a rescue to receive donations from the pool, its supporters simply need to check-in to the app when they go for a walk (with a dog, alone, or with a friend). Each walker's distance is recorded and added to the rescue's weekly sum. At the end of the week donations are paid out to the rescues proportionally to the total distance walked.

Our campaign goal is to raise $20,000 to fund the initial donation pools (for when the app launches at the end of June). This way we will be able to run the app for 2 months, with fully funded donation pools, and prove to corporate sponsors that people want to walk in support of homeless animals.

I would be very grateful if you would consider sharing this information with your readers. If you are interested and would like additional information, please just let me know. Furthermore, if you have any questions my email address and phone number are below. Feel free to contact me at any time.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    1. My name is Jennifer. I have severe ptsd. I believe in showing different types of support for our Wounded soldiers.
I advocate for therapy pets; appropriate training for rescued pets and pairing them with Wounded Veterans as either service, Therapy, or emotional support pets.
I am humbly hoping to begin and provide DESPERATELY under serviced needs in California. There are hundreds of places that provide food to low income families. Some members are the hardest to provide for in lean times- our pet family members. I would simply request a single penny, yes a penny; and target the state demographic, use bulk mailers, the internet, and a plethora of business contacts to spread the word. If every person in CA alone donated, it would generate enough initial funds and donated food. I have my corporate 501 (c)(3) EIN, DUNS number and am in progress of collecting funds to pay the secretary of state non profit registration. No funds would go to operating overhead;and all food will be distributed after verification of lower to low-low income. The Farber Foundation for Fur Therapy would like to become the ONLY animal food bank north of Monterey Bay. 1 out of a total 4 including ours. Please, advice would be epic.

  2. Hey Dianne and Rocco!

I stumbled upon your website while conducting research about foods dogs can and can't have. I see that you're an advocate for raw food diets for dogs, which is something I would LOVE to learn more about! Over at CertaPet, we recently published an infographic called 27 Foods to Never Feed Your Dog, and one of the things on the list was raw foods. The reasons we cited were due to raw food's possibility to contain a host of bacteria, such as E. Coli, Salmonella and others.

Since we published the infographic (which you can find at the link below), we've had many people argue the positive health benefits of feeding their dogs a raw diet. I'm wondering if you would lend us your opinion? Can these risks be properly mitigated? Should we not have included raw meat on our infographic?

Please check out our infographic here:

And let us know what you think.

    Thank you!
