This past Saturday, I had the chance to help out at the Purina Pet Project at Purina Farms in St. Louis. It's a one-day volunteer event to help build a better life for homeless pets, and it was all part of our Meet Purina tour with 15 other pet bloggers. Join us inside and I'll show you what we did!
The Pet Project is both an adoption event and a place where DIY meets pets in need! Volunteers spent the day painting dog houses, assembling cat towers and dog beds, making pet blankets, and decorating pet bowls and discs. Folks of all ages participated and all the items are donated to homeless pets in need.
It's a great day for family fun! This family gets in the action, above, assembling a cat tower.
Thousands of folks participated, decorating items like food bowls and discs, above.
Our bloggers got into the action too. Above, Dan from Purina shows Catsparella's Stephanie how to assemble a dog bed....
Um, Dan, actually I think this is how you do it...
Paris from DogTipper and Joanne from The Tiniest Tiger display the adorable pet blanket they just made!
Here's the blanket I made, above, with help from Anastasia at Cat Fancy. Adorable!
The other half of the room was filled with beautiful adoptable pups and kitties from about 15 local shelters.
This little guy, above, just wanted to play!
Here's a cutie who's ready for Halloween!
Belly rubs!
Awww, what a face! His t-shirt says he's looking for his forever home.
After joining in at the Pet Project, we headed over to the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge. Stay tuned for our photos from that event or check out the photos on the Purina Pro Plan Facebook page.
It was a terrific day, and if you ever have the chance to volunteer at the Purina Pet Project, I highly recommend it!
Disclosure: Purina covered the expenses for the blogger tour. All opinions expressed herein are entirely our own.
And now, since it's Monday, let's see what Mischief everyone else is up to!
