FitDog Friday: Amazing Dogs Surf for Charity

In a special edition of FitDog Friday we bring you some amazingly fit surf dogs -- actually 40 dogs surfing for charity!

HooplaHa caught up with some of these furry friends at the 8th annual Loews Coronado Bay Surf Dog Competition in California. Catching some waves and keeping it cool, these pups are way more impressive at surfing than the average human. And what makes it even better, is that the event raised more than $20,000 for the ASPCA

Watch the video here and you may see an appearance by our pal Tillman, the skateboarding Bulldog!

Rocco says, "I hope to be like my pal Tillman someday!"
Has your pup ever surfed? We think it looks like loads of fun!

The fun and games continue every Friday with FitDog Friday, the weekly Blog Hop brought to you by To Dog With LoveSlimDoggy and Peggy's Pet Place to promote a healthy active lifestyle for pets (and their people, too!) and to help combat pet obesity. Join in every Friday by linking up your FitDog story or visiting the blogs in the Hop.

  2. OMD I am sure FInn would just jump right into the water and Charley would just stand still on the board, afraid he would fall into the water!

  4. I have never tried it but I probably would like it and with my shorter legs balancing would be a bit easier than for a tall dog!

  5. Cute! My dogs haven't been to the ocean, so no surfing. I never thought to try it in a pool. Somehow, I don't think Maya & Pierson will go for it.

  9. Can't imagine what 40 surfing dogs would be like but I sure would love to see it live...Gizmo and I have reservations for paddleboarding in September but I think surfing is beyond both of us (I've tried it and never could stand up for more than a few seconds)...Speaking of Tillman, we were watching old episodes of One Tree Hill the other day (totally vegging in front of the TV) and saw two where Tillman plays a skateboarding dog name Dogust...he stole the show
