Zututh Review and Giveaway: New Dog Toothbrush Makes Brushing Teeth Fun!

Is it really possible to make brushing teeth fun for pets?

The poultry flavored toothpaste doesn't hurt. At least Rocco seems to think it's pretty tasty. But the struggle seems to start when toothbrush meets teeth. So I was intrigued to try a new kind of doggie toothbrush, one that promised a unique shape to better fit the shape of a dog's mouth.

New Zututh features an angled brush head to help you reach those hard to reach places at the back of your pup's mouth. It also has a thicker handle, which gives it a comfortable grip that felt good in my hand as I brushed Rocco's teeth.

I also like that it comes in three sizes. We used the small... a perfect fit for young Rocco's pearly whites!

Rocco gives the Zututh a go...

Success! Rocco and I give the Zututh a four paws up. The toothbrush fits in Rocco's mouth easily and we were able to reach all the way back to the molars. And it's comfortable to hold. Now we just have to remember to brush everyday!

What  else makes Zututh unique?

Zututh is a dog toothbrush created by an oral surgeon to specifically fit the shape of a dog's mouth.  Some of it's unique features include:
  • Zututh's "Z" shaped brush allows you to reach the upper back molars easily and more effectively
  • Zututh can also be used on other teeth, but the focus is the difficult to reach areas that are more prone to tartar build-up
  • Zututh's two-tandem brush cleans more teeth at once, therefore decreasing brushing time
  • Zututh's handle is thicker to allow for an easier, sturdier grip
The folks at Zututh also share some good tips for brushing your pup's teeth in this video...

  1. We tried it but it didn't work for us. We now have dry food in the afternoon and that works. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  2. Brushing Chihuahua teeth is a challenge. Is the "small" small enough for tiny kids?

    1. Rocco's bigger than a small Chihuahua but I would think a small would work. It's plenty small enough for him (he's 12 pounds). Hard for me to say though without a Chihuahua in front of me!

  4. WANT!!! Dakota LOVES having his teeth brushed, guess who the problem is? ME! I always forget or am too lazy! This is the BEST brush I have seen (thanks for the give-away!) Love how it is curved, perfect for reaching those hard-to-reach spaces!!! I have to keep my Sheltie's smile looking bright!

    1. Wow! You are so lucky that Dakota actually LOVES teeth brushing! Rocco kinda, sorta tolerates it because he wants to eat the toothpaste! haha!

  5. We just got the electric one. I can't brush until my stitches are out next week, but Katie and Bailie are trying it out and it seems to be going well.

  6. I just got the electric one too! I don't mind having my teeth brushed but I sure need to get used to the humming sounds of the electric toothbrush. Dear dawg! So glad Rocco likes the regular one - he needs to keep those teeth pearly-white!

  7. We've tried but it hasn't worked in the past. I feel like it would be much easier with this.

  8. I do brush my dog's teeth. Shiloh doesn't particularly like me maneuvering around his mouth, but he actually kind of likes the taste of the toothpaste, plus he trusts me enough to let me do absolutely anything to him. But in the end, it comes down to training them for it. Shiloh knows that after the brushing is done, he will get jackpot treats- makes it all worth it!

  9. I brushed our previous dog's teeth religiously and he STILL had to have a dental cleaning every year! So I have not been brushing our current two dogs' teeth. But I probably should.

  10. I do brush my dogs' teeth. I use a soft child's toothbrush and toothpaste made for dogs. My dogs have never had to have their teeth professionally cleaned. After I brush their teeth, they get a dental treat.

  11. I have tried but with no luck. She eats dry food and gets dentastix. I'd like to try again though.

  13. I used to when she was younger, but it was such a pain and didn't seem to make much of a difference that I stopped. Unfortunately, I learned recently that I need to brush her teeth even more than the average dog needs it due to her liver condition and inability to have a professional cleaning. :-(

  17. Only when I remember, which is not too often, but better than nothing. They have good teeth regardless :)

Not as often as I should. They do not like it at all. They bite when we brush their teeth.

  25. The cost of the usual toothbrush is its biggest advantage. For most people, it is absurd to spend too much for a toothbrush.electric toothbrush reviews
