FitDog Friday: Move Your Mutt Edition

Rocco Havanese has no trouble staying on the move.
I, however, can use some help!
Just in time for the New Year, our pals at Slimdoggy have some cool plans in the works to help inspire fitness and healthy activity for you and your pup.

We know that getting fit tops the list of many New Year's resolutions, so here are some great ways to help motivate you to Move Your Mutt and yourself!

First, Slimdoggy with Petsmove.org  is holding the Move Your Mutt-a-Thon, a virtual Health and Fitness Expo from January 1 - 4.

Without ever leaving home, you can watch videos of health and fitness tips from a panel of experts, visit an exhibit hall of sponsors offering their health and fitness products, and participate in the Mutt-a-Thon event, a virtual walkathon of all of the PetsMove members! You can read all about the event here.

Then for some more inspiration, Slimdoggy is co-hosting the Resolve to Move Your Mutt Blog Hop with our pals from Keep the Tail Wagging.  If your resolutions are anything like ours -- more exercise and eating better (more for me than Rocco!) -- this is a fun way to get motivated. And you'll have an entire like-minded community to keep you moving!

The hop runs from December 29 - January 4 and you can read more about it here.

We also plan to try more canine sports in upcoming months and will be heading to a Barn Hunt fun day this weekend! We'll let you know how that goes!

The fun and games continue every Friday with FitDog Friday, the weekly Blog Hop brought to you by To Dog With LoveSlimDoggy and Peggy's Pet Place to promote a healthy active lifestyle for pets (and their people, too!). Join in every Friday by linking up your FitDog story or visiting the blogs in the Hop.

  2. Hope you have fun at Barn Hunt! We've tried it before but Mr.N's first love is still lure coursing.

    1. I think Rocco will love lure coursing too. We hope to try that soon! I'm not sure what he's going to think of Barn Hunt!
