FItDog Friday meets K9 Kamp: Gather 'Round the Kampfire!

Rocco plays the Find It Game!
We can't believe it's already time for the final Kampfire at K9 Kamp!

If you're new to K9 Kamp, this is the week that all our Kamp pals will share their stories about all the fun and adventures they've had while attending this winter session of K9 Kamp, a virtual camp we hold right here alongside FitDog Friday twice a year.

For each K9 Kamp session, your Kamp counselors -- that's us, SlimDoggy and Peggy's Pet Place -- issue a fun challenge. And then all the campers -- that's you guys -- go have fun with it and then tell us all about it at the final Kampfire.

This session's challenge was Doggie Hide and Seek, and we encouraged you all to make up your own rules and have fun with it. We sure did!

We had lots of fun with Box Games
We found three new ways to play Hide and Seek.
  1. The first week we played a fun game of Find It, hiding and finding a fun toy filled with treats!
  2. The second week Rocco learned to Go Hide in a Box!
  3. And then last week, Rocco played Hide Your Eyes!
Rocco hides his eyes, while I go hide something for him to find!
Rocco and I had lots of fun learning new things and making up our own games along the way. We can't wait to read about what you all did! So gather 'round our Kampfire and tell your stories by linking up your posts to our K9 Kamp Blog Hop, below!

We'd also love to hear about your favorite K9 Kamp memories. Just leave a comment below and let us know what you loved learning at K9 Kamp! We hope you had as much fun as we did!

The fun and games continue every Friday with FitDog Friday, the weekly Blog Hop brought to you by To Dog With LoveSlimDoggy and Peggy's Pet Place to promote a healthy active lifestyle for pets (and their people, too!). Join in every Friday by linking up your FitDog story or visiting the blogs in the Hop.
And, from now through February 21, FitDog Friday will co-locate with K9 Kamp. So we'd love for you to link up all your FitDog AND K9 Kamp posts here!  And, don't forget to enter our K9 Kamp giveaway! You'll find it in this link to our K9 Kamp giveaway post.

  1. I attended a Freestyle workshop where the instructors dog did a "peek-a-boo" hide it's eyes move. She said it always wowed the judges. I only had two dogs who can't reach their eyes at the time but now maybe Huxley could learn it!

    1. Oh, that sounds like fun! There are a few things Rocco can't do either because of his short legs, and hide your eyes was hard for him at first too. Let us know if you train peek-a-boo so we can see how you do it!
      Your pals,
      Diane and Rocco

  2. Great job Rocco!

Now I want you to close your eyes, and go find a box to sit in!

  3. Pawsome. We so love the hide your eyes. Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  4. You two sure had fun!! Rocco did great at all his games. That is too cute with him hiding his eyes....I haven't read that post yet but am going to go read it right now! Then I need to read more about everyone else's fun too....I think it was a great K9 Kamp.

  5. Thanks for holding a great Kamp. Love that hide your eyes trick and our nose work fit right in with the theme this Kamp.

  6. You guys did great with this challenge, we really liked your take on hide and seek! :) Nailah and I are now working on "hide your eyes", so thanks for the idea!

  7. Did Rocco have a favorite? Mr. N likes all three of those activities. He loves boxes.

  8. Bet Rocco had a lot of fun playing those hide-and-seek games!

  9. We so flunked K9 Kamp! Our favorite memory? Hmmmm mom realized she can't train me to do anything so we are going to pay someone to do it? Love Dolly

  10. LOL like the hide your eyes. Excellent job! We were kind of lame with our kamp participation, but we will be making up for it in the coming weeks.

  11. Great job Rocco, hide your eyes is super cute. You rock

  12. Oh, that Rocco is such a smart young pup! I love the "hide your eyes" photo. Too cute!
    Happy Monday,

  13. Loving the hide your eyes shot.....very cool. Smart pup
