A New Place to Hike With Dogs

Guess where we're heading?!

Rocco and I have been busy this week preparing for our next vacation.  We'll be heading out to ................. Italy! I took the photo, above, the last time I was there with Cosmo. It was taken as we were flying out over the Alps.

Cosmo had the chance to travel to Italy twice, and while we were there we found so many place to explore with dogs. And the best thing about it is you can take your dog almost anywhere! Even inside of restaurants and on public transportation.

This will be Rocco's first international trip... keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be good on the flight!

We're planning some hikes and plenty of exploration. We'll be visiting the Italian Lakes region at Lake Como.

We'll take lots of photos and share them with you when we get back! There's nothing like a change of scenery to inspire your Fit Dog activities, right?!

    Have a wonderful trip. I cannot imagine traveling that far myself, let alone with my pup. Can't wait to hear more.

      My last Havanese Cosmo did great on these long flights. I'm a little nervous about Rocco... he can be a bit dramatic. Fingers crossed!

    We had lots of fun adventures on the North Sea. Katie did get to be in the mountains in southern Germany her first couple of years. It doesn't matter where you are, new areas are always fun. Hope Rocco deals well with the jet lag. I had trouble with it when we moved back to the US.

    You and Rocco are so lucky that you get to travel together! I guess Iowa was fun but it sure as heck isn't Italy. Mom is leaving me next week for some place called Van Cover but I don't get to go. Love Dolly

    Oh yay for traveling to Italy with your pup!! What a fun experience :-) I'm a native German and not being able to take our pups along with us everywhere we go here in the US is a real bummer. It's so normal to take dogs along pretty much everywhere you go, as long as they are well behaved.

    Hiking with a dog is different than hiking with another person. It adds layers of complication and responsibility, too.
