Make #ONEdifference For Shelter Dogs (and a Giveaway!)

This post is sponsored by Purina. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Purina ONE, but To Dog With Love only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.
There's nothing unusual about celebrity sightings in LA. But this past weekend, the real stars were the adoptable pets at a red carpet dog adoption event in Santa Monica.

The adoption event was all part of the Purina ONE Difference campaign, which celebrates the people and shelters dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of dogs.

To celebrate the campaign, Purina ONE partnered with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) to help more dogs find their forever homes and help benefit the Petfinder Foundation by asking folks to sign up for the 28-Day Challenge. (More details how you can sign up and help, below!)

Two-legged stars turned out at the event too, including television star Jesse Tyler Ferguson who teamed up with Purina ONE and Petfinder to adopt his new dog, Fennel, an eight month-old Coton de Tulear, Cockapoo Mix!

Ferguson is also helping to make #ONEdifference by taking the 28 Day Challenge by switching to Purina ONE SmartBlend for his pups Fennel and Leaf, a 3-year-old Maltese,Yorkie mix.

The spcaLA is known for developing the Helping Enhance Animals’ Lives (HEAL)™ program which provides shelter dogs with enrichment activities and basic obedience to help lower their stress and make them better candidates for adoption. During the event, adoptable dogs walked a red carpet, showcased their smarts on stage and charmed attendees from their makeshift green room.

Ferguson joined the fun, too, walking the red carpet with his recently adopted dog, Fennel.

  9. Shunta just lost her dad a couple weeks ago and her mom 2 years ago. She is 12 years old and they were a little family for many years. She used to take care of her dad because he was old and couldn't get up steps. To me this is all special and different. Guess I'm a little bias.

  10. It would be a lot to go into detail about what makes each pup unique, but we'll try to keep it short. Bella is steadfast and my right had girl. Terra is very talkative and sweet, although sometimes she can be a little too much right up in your face. Kronos is half deaf and he's such a clown around the house. They are all so different in many ways!

  13. My dog is a HUGE fan of swimming. Not in ponds or lakes, but in swimming pools! She insists on going with us to the pool and starts crying when she knows we are getting close. As soon as we arrive she runs to the pool and jumps in!
