The Four Play Styles of Dogs

Rocco Havanese and pals
Rocco and his pals Bingo, Codie and Nicky
Rocco's had a full house of playmates this week, and the past few days we've had some nice, sunny weather in Atlanta... perfect for playing outside.  Each dog has his or her own style of play. Take a look!

The Teammates

Havanese furry dogs running

Rocco and his Havanese pal Nicky are in perfect lockstep as they run around the backyard. It's hard to tell where one starts and the other stops!

The Sprinters

Nicky and Codie love chasing each other around the backyard. Rocco will sometimes join in but he'd rather be...

The Retriever

Rocco loves to chase his disc and bring it back to me. He's displaying his unique technique here of catching the disc on his nose!

The Cheerleader

Bingo's the only girl in the group and she'd rather supervise than participate in the boys' silly games.

What's your dog's play style. Let us know in the comments below!

The fun and games continue every Friday with FitDog Friday, the weekly Blog Hop brought to you by To Dog With LoveSlimDoggy and My GBGV Life to promote a healthy active lifestyle for pets (and their people, too!). 1. Bailie and I are the sprinters, Katie is the cheerleader, although until a couple years ago she also participated heavily in the sprinter group. Cute group of little dogs!

  2. Great fun - my two seniors don't play much anymore but Sally and Tino used to both be retrievers.

  4. They look adorable. I wish Kilo could play with other dogs but so far no interest. He will walk beside Stanley or Maya in the park but still does not trust other dogs at all. He loves playing chase and tussling and tug with me.

  9. Our beagle Cricket is the "Retriever" and her siblings who are actually a golden retriever and Labrador retriever mix, are more of the "Teammates" - often romping around and playing by themselves! Luke does also like to be the "Sprinter" at times too!

  13. Love this post! Charlie is absolutely the retriever. Your picture really made me laugh because he has the same frisbee and often carries it the same way (where he can't see where he is going!)

As for Harley he fits the Cheerleader perfectly!
