Pets Add Life, Joy and Laughter!

Is your pet a clown? Cosmo's always doing something funny to make me laugh whether it's chasing the vacuum, making a silly face or getting random items like leaves or chew bones stuck all over his fur!

Today's post is part of the Pets Add Life campaign, created to demonstrate the joys and benefits of pet ownership and promote responsible ownership of pets.

And if one is fun, the folks at Pets Add Life believes that more is even merrier! So they've proclaimed November 19 as National Get a Pal for Your Pet Day!

To help celebrate, there's a special Twitter party for all BFF's (Best Furry Friends) on November 17 from 5-8 p.m. ET. Use hashtag #BlogPawtyPals to follow the fun!

And if the time's not right for you to add a furry friend to your household, PAL has other ways you can help pets in need. Through November 16, vote for a shelter to win a donation, up to $10,000, as part of the Pets Add Life Help A Shelter Out Contest.

For more fun round the clock, you can also check out the PAL Facebook page, Twitter and YouTube channel for some seriously funny videos!

We're also joining in the Pets Add Life Blog Hop. All bloggers who'd like to share funny pet stories are welcome to join!

Cosmo says the mischief's just begun!

It's National Get a Pal For Your Pet Day!

Pets Add Life (PAL) has officially declared November 19th National Get a Pal For Your Pet Day! The folks at PAL recognize the benefits of owning multiple pets, and want to encourage pet parents to consider adopting additional furry, winged and/or finned family members.
Cosmo, left, is an "only dog" but sure enjoys playtime when his pals come to visit!
Is it time for a second dog?!
If you're considering a second pet, or a third or a fourth, the folks at PAL say there are many benefits to having multiple pets in a household:
"Giving your pet a friend allows it to interact with other animals, which results in a more active and social animal. Studies have even shown that multiple pets can help ease a pet's separation anxiety from its owner, as well as revitalize older animals when a new pet is introduced."
It's also important to be knowledgeable about HOW to introduce a new pet to the household. Pets Add Life has assembled some good resources about multiple pet ownership, including these tips from Banfield, The Pet Hospital to help make the transition more successful. PALS shares more information on the benefit of sharing your life with multiple pets here.
