A Walk Through Not So Dry Falls!

During our recent trip to Highlands, N.C., we took advantage of a short break in the rain to visit four nearby waterfalls. 

The heavy rainfalls made the falls even more impressive than usual. Just a short drive down the road from Highlands we viewed Bridal Veil Falls, Cullasaja Falls, Bust Your Butt Falls and finally Dry Falls.

When we were here last year, the paths to Dry Falls were under construction so we weren't able to view the falls. This year, Rocco enjoyed the meandering trail to the falls ...

... that winds around and passes underneath the falls! He loved the sound and the water, but was limited to getting his zoomies on around my feet. Waterfalls are no place for a dog to run free!

Here's the story of our weekend birthday trip to Asheville
and Highlands, NC.... rain, rain and more rain!

We were so busy celebrating my birthday in the North Carolina mountains this past weekend that I nearly missed that we made the Petties finals!

We're so honored to be named a finalist in the Best Overall Blog category in the 2013 DogTime Petties awards. It really came as quite the birthday surprise, and honestly, I didn't see our finalist notification until our pals at SlimDoggy and Terrier Torrent, who were also named finalists in different categories, left us a note on our Facebook page! Thank you pals!

We're in amazing company with some terrific blogs that were named finalists across all the categories. Thanks to everyone who nominated us, but now the fun's just begun!
