May #Pawpawty: Anipal Superheroes Raise Funds for Young At Heart Pet Rescue

Cosmo Havanese helps protect the anipal community
by serving as quizmaster and DJ at monthly Pawpawties.

Some of the biggest superheroes I know are the anipals who every month tirelessly raise funds for animal charities across the globe. That's why it's only fitting that this month's theme for the Twitter #Pawpawty is "Anipal Superheroes!"

The May #Pawpawty is this weekend, and you can still join in the fun on Twitter by following the #pawpawty hashtag until 2 p.m. ET today, though often the anipals stick around for an after the pawty, pawty!

Each month features a different charity, and this weekend the anipals are supporting Young at Heart Pet Rescue, located in the Chicagoland area (my kind of town, Chicago is!). Founded in 2005, Young At Heart rescues and rehomes senior dogs and cats age 5 years and older (eeks! In dog years, I thought 5 was the new 3!).

Find out more about Pawpawty and how to support our shelter-of-the-month here.

And for your Sunday morning listening pleasure, here's the Superheroes Pawpawty playlist Cosmo Havanese assembled for this weekend's pawty!

Now, let's go to the Pet Blogger's Blog Hop!

Get Your Holiday PawPawty ON!

The monthly fundraising PawPawty on Twitter typically supports one animal shelter a month. But this month we're doing something a little bit different. We're raising funds for the six shelters who are being supported by the second annual Santa Paws Drive. So come on down and have some fun and help the anipals who need it most! The Pawtying lasts until 2 p.m. ET tomorrow (Dec. 12)!  Just follow the #pawpawty hashtag on Twitter or go here for more info.

The six Santa Paws Drive shelters include three in the United States, one in Canada, one in the UK and one in Tenerife:

• Animal Rescue League in Laurel, MS
• Big Dog Ranch Rescue in West Palm Beach, FL
• Harmony House for Cats in Chicago
• K9 Tenerife, located off the coast of Africa
• Southern Ontario Animal Rescue in Canada
• Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in the South of England

Santa Paws drive is taking donations until Dec. 20, because shelter pets deserve some holiday goodies too and the elves need time to deliver them! You can donate through our Santa Paws Drive widget in our sidebar or go here to get more info.

AND, to put you in a holiday mood, here's a preview of our PawPawty playlist. Cosmo Havanese will be in the DJ booth tomorrow from 10 - 11 a.m. ET! Pawty ON!

AND, since it's Saturday, it's ALSO time for the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop! Come on down and hippity hop!

Join us at Harry Pawter #PawPawty today!

The theme is Harry Pawter -- or Hairy Pawter --  for this month's PawPawty on Twitter and Cosmo is flying high!! So what's new?!

Pawty goes until 2 p.m. ET today... so hurry up and stop by -- use hastag #PawPawty. This month we're raising money for The Last Resort animal rescue in West Milford, NJ. More about PawPawty and how to donate here!

Our playlist was a bit eclectic for this month... a little something for everyone on this list:

And don't forget, from now until Thanksgiving day at Midnight ET, Iams will donate 50 meals to shelter pets for every tweet using the hashtag #CosmoIH4TH! It's all part of Iams Home 4 The Holidays to help shelter pets everywhere! We've already tweeted a gazillion times so let's make it a gazillion more! That's a lot of food for the anipals who need it most!

Hop on over the Halloween PawPawty!

Once a month it's Blog Hop Saturday AND time to PawPawty! To warm you up to pawty, here's our special Howloween #PawPawty playlist!

MWUAHAHAHAHA!

PawPawty runs from 2 p.m., Saturday, October 16 to 2 p.m., Sunday, October 17. So come on over to #PawPawty on Twitter and join the fun! ...And help the charity we're supporting this month, Orphan Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Neenah, Wis.

Now let's go the Hop!

Cruise Ship #PawPawty Playlist

Cosmo's been a Twitter #PawPawty DJ since the very first pawty, so we thought it was cool to find this new option available on Grooveshark. Now you can make your own personalized playlist, AND upload it in this dandy little widget! The anipals play tunes in keeping with the PawPawty theme of the month... this weekend's pawty featured a Cruise Ship theme.  So crank up some tunes and Pawty ON pals!

Never been to a #PawPawty on Twitter? Learn more about it here and how we've raised almost $40,000 to help the anipals who need it most, all over the world!
